Contraindications:
Allergies: Aspirin, Phenol, Hydroquinone, or any constituents of the Botulinum Toxin product.
General Conditions: Pregnancy, Breastfeeding, Gross Motor Weakness.
Disorders or Diseases: Immune Disorders, Liver Conditions, Active Cancer Treatments including Chemotherapy or Radiation in the past 6 months,Neuromuscular Disorder.
Skin Conditions: Inflamed Skin, Warts, Open Wounds, Active Herpes Simplex,Oral Isotretinoin (Accutane) use within the past 6 months, Keloidal Scarring.
ToxBooster Before Care
Inform the skincare professional of any allergies before your appointment and disclose any medication use.
Avoid the use of Aspirin, NSAIDS, Ginkgo Biloba, Garlic Supplements, Green Tea, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamins A, and E, and essential fatty acids for up to 1-week pre- and post-injection as they will increase your risk of bruising.
Inform your provider if you have a history of cold sores to receive advice on antiviral therapy prior to treatment.
Do not drink alcoholic beverages 24 hours before (or after) your treatment to avoid extra bruising.
Do not exfoliate up to 1 week before the treatment.
Do not have any type of chemical skin treatments up to 1 week before the treatment.
Discontinue using products containing retinol or glycolic acid a minimum of 24 hours before your treatment.
You may take Arnica tablets 2-3 days before your treatment to reduce the risk of bruising.
ToxBooster After Care
Follow the instructions below for best results:
- Download the VI Peel App -- this resource documents your journey while delivering instructions + helpful tips.
- Try to exercise your treated muscles for 1-2 hours after treatment (e.g., practice frowning, raising your eyebrows, and squint). This helps to work the product into your muscles.
- Stay in a vertical position for 4 hours following injection. Do not rest your head or lie down; sit upright; the head should remain above the heart.
- You may take Acetaminophen/Tylenol Do not rest your head or lie down; sit upright; the head should remain above the heart.
- After treatment, there may be moderate swelling and redness with the possibility of bruising in the areas of injection. You may apply Arnica cream or take Arnica tablets to help decrease the amount of bruising.
- Avoid extended UV exposure for the whole seven days after your treatment. Apply SPF 50+ provided in your VI Peel Aftercare Kit regularly.
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 48-72 hours Avoid strenuous exercise for 48-72 hours
- Avoid laser, IPL, or skin tightening treatments of the area for a minimum of 2 weeks (or as directed by your provider).
- You may resume your regular skincare routine after the 7 Days as tolerated by your skin.
- Your follow-up appointment is set for two weeks to assess your skin and any need for additional units of toxin.
Post Treatment Suncare
Post treatment sun protection and skin care is always a must. After your appointment or any time you may interested, the Trü Life Medspa & Wellness team can apply either our tinted or non-tinted, mineral based sunscreen to the treated area and explain the benefits of only using a mineral based sunscreen.
